Introduction

Kamal, a very good friend of mine is an aspiring Actor. Some nine years ago when I was leaving Nepal to come to United States to study, he had expressed his desire to make a career in acting. Over the years, we kept in touch. While in College, I took a class on movie making. I even thought that one day I will go to Nepal and work with Kamal to make documentaries about life of Bus drivers. Well, I am still here and it seems like my dream of going to Nepal to make film will have to wait. So when Kamal sent me a script of the movie that he wrote with Isha Badu and Prabesh Giri, I offered to help him with whatever I could.

Kamal's movie is called Mittho. It is a movie about a girl, Mittho, who is from Rana Tharu family. She lives in a poor village with her grandfather and mother. There are crooks in this village and there are good teachers too. In a country, where Tharus were treated as second class citizen, this is a story about a young girl's dreams and desires. It's a story about a grandfather's wish to find a groom for his granddaugther before she is 16 and it's a story about a mother who can't do anything to help her daughter. I think if Kamal works hard he can make a really good movie out of the story and script he has. But he needs financial support. I created this webpage, so that folks like you and I can donate whatever our finance allows.
